Our own state - an educational project for the lower secondary education

This diploma thesis focuses on the project-based learning as a complex teaching method and its possible application in lower-secondary school education. The aim of this thesis is to create an educational project focused on a chosen theme from the field of "Human and Society" and its verification in practice. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and analytical. Theoretical part interprets information about contemporary expert views on the project-based learning considering its possible application within the educational field "Human and Society", particularly in the field of Civics. The theoretical part deals with these chapters - the history of the project-based learning, what is a project, what is the project method, what is the project-based learning and the use of the project method in civic education. The analytical parts deals with a complex educational project applicable in lower-secondary school education which concentrates on selected themes from these educational units: "Human, state and economy", "Human, state and legal system" and "International relations, global world". The project was applicated at lower secondary school and it is evaluated in accordance with methodological principles of action research.
Pop-art Elements in Art-Project Education at Primary School

This theoretical project-based thesis focuses on application of pop art in art education at primary school. The theoretical part is divided into two chapters. The first one describes the origin and development of pop art and the second is focused on pop art prom the perspective of didactics of art education. The project part of the thesis is divided into six lessons, which are part of the art series named Quick Trips for Pop Art to Museums and Galleries of Modern Art. The topics of the lessons are mediated in a playful way and designed to use various art techniques.
Comparison of psychosocial climate of the first grade classes at primary school and elementary school with elements of Montessori pedagogy from the teacher perspective.

This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of the psychosocial climate of classes of ordinary elementary schools and elementary schools with the elements of Montessori pedagogy from the teacher perspective. The theoretical part summarizes the current knowledge concerning the psychosocial climate of the class and the knowledge of pedagogy according to Marie Montessori. The practical part consists of qualitative research, semi-structured interviews with respondents working in ordinary elementary schools and respondents from elementary schools with elements of Montessori pedagogy were used. Its aim was to obtain information on the process of creating a psychosocial climate in both these types of primary schools. The differences between the two groups of respondents in the area of determinants of the creation of psychosocial climate, obstacles in the creation of psychosocial climate, the educational style of teachers and the use of project teaching proved to be significant.
How to dress a house. The Art Project for 1st Grade of Elementary School. (theoretical-project thesis)

The thesis deals with an art project called "How to dress a house", which was implemented in art lessons at a primary school. The theoretical part elaborates on the motive of house from the meaning, content, emotional, historical, pedagogical, educational and project-based learning points of view. The practical part contains the actual project implementation, which was divided into seven lessons. These seven lessons took place in Year 5 of the Plešivec Primary School in Český Krumlov. The results of the pupils' work are presented at the end of the thesis.
Options of implementation of the project teaching for German language teaching in the first level of elementary school

This Diploma thesis deals with the project teaching and with the options of implementation of this method into second language teaching in the first level of elementary schools. Theoretical part of the thesis focuses on history, characteristics, classification, phases, advantages and disadvantages of the project teaching. In the second part, the thesis is based on a five-hour long project called "Berlin entdecken" created by the author and realized in the fifth year of elementary school with the extended second language teaching specialization. The thesis aims to find out students' attitude towards the project teaching. Also, based on a case study, it tries to find out whether the integration of this teaching method is applicable to teaching process among students with different education expectations. The research draws on both quantitative and qualitative methods (i.e. questionnaire, observation, and structured interview). Based on the carried out research, the thesis find out that the project teaching is an appropriate method for second language teaching in the first level of elementary schools. Similarly to other methods, however, the project teaching also has its constraints which need to be taken into consideration. Development reading literacy by project in primary school

This thesis open the problematics of reading literacy and its development by project teaching. Dissertation is divided into two parts - theoretically and practically. In the first part there is described foundation of projects and project teaching, its history and advantages of its technique. Another topic is reading literacy, especially different concepts and ways of development by RWCT, creative drama and project teaching. Particular project is described in empiric part. Pupils of third class at primal school were observed during project. Qualitative and quantitative research is used in this thesis. The aim of research is influence of project teaching on pupil's motivation during the work with reading matter.
My school and its surroundings a hundred years ago

Krátká, M.: My city a century ago [Diploma Thesis] Praha 2014 - Charles University, Faculty of Education, Art Education Department, 135 p. The diploma thesis focuses on cross-curricular connection of two educational areas; The Art and Culture - Art education and "Man and His World". The thesis also analyzes textbooks of the "Man and His World" educational area and determines how and to what extent it is focused on the theme of home, region, the past, identity of subject and places of public area. The empirical part consists of an educational project closely linking the curriculum of art education with curriculum of the subject "Man and His World". It focuses on primary education and it's goal is to effectively educate children about the history of the town they live in using interdisciplinary approach. The educational project is based on theoretical findings stated in the theoretical part of the diploma thesis. It is also set to the context of contemporary art but in comparison to modern art it seems to be based more traditionally. Projekt teaching:The Greatest Czech man according to pupils of 9th in elementary school

The main focus of the work is to search for the greatest Czech, according to opinion of the 9th grade students. Other goal was to create and apply a project, through which we gathered information. Another goal was to find out if the students are interested in these persons out of the school education. Two methods were used to fulfil these goals - a survey and a project. The results of survey are: 1st place - Charles Fourth, 2nd place - Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk and 3rd place - Václav Havel. The survey also showed that students are in mostly interested in these persons. If they do, they use internet and documentary movies as main sources of information rather than specialised literature. The final reflection of the project indicates that students liked it and considered it as interesting.
"Become a detective" - Topic work focused on forensic analysis

UHERČÍKOVÁ, G. : "Become a detective" (Topic work focused on forensic analysis). Master thesis. Prague, Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Science, Department of Teaching & Didacties of Chemistry, 2013. This thesis deals with the preparation of a draft project for secondary school students on the theme "Become a detective." This is a complex project that is focused not only on the information of biology and chemistry, but also for forensic analysis. The theoretical part is focused on a general production project, forensic analysis, fingerprints, DNA and qualitative analysis. Theory of this part helps pupils and teachers to understand the problem. The practical part contains the whole project within worksheets to copyright solution for teachers. Worksheets are designed to help students manage the entire project. Materials designed for students are attached to this thesis. The project was tested on 30. 4. 2013 in the laboratory of the Department of Teaching and Didactics of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. The project involved 13 pupils from Gymnasium Omská, Prague, 10.
Marine microorganisms: the complex project in the learning for geology and biology at grammar schools

This thesis deals with incorporating microorganisms into teaching. The main idea was to create guide for teachers at high schools, whereby they could create own excursion. Thesis is divided into didactical and practical part, didactical part of thesis is coping with incorporating into teaching, especially into RVP ZV, RVP G and textbooks. Practical part delas with the creating of metodical guide for teachers. This thesis also contains questionnaire analysis of respondent's relationship to biology and geology.
